Today was Spain's Labor Day, so we went out for a walk around Alcalá, came back for la comida, and then went as a group (without a guide!) up to Madrid.
Churros con chocolate=an excellent breakfast/brunch treat (in Alcalá) |
Walking to el prado in Madrid (it was closed today but fun to walk around) |
The church of St. Jerome |
El parque retiro-basically the Spanish version of Central Park |
A close up of what's behind me |
El palacio cristal |
And last but not least, a random cat farm. Sweet. |
So today was wonderful :) and then we had gelato for coming home and it was the best I've ever had-coconut with shredded coconut in it and a super rich pistachio that was an awesomely full flavor. Think deep deep pistachio. Tomorrow we head to Toledo! Which is famous for it's metalwork, including armor and swords. Expect some of that for my next post!
