El Escorial is an enormous castle/monastery combo. It's amazing! We weren't allowed to take pictures inside, so I just have some of the outside/courtyard.

Valle de los Caídos was stunning, in kind of a scary way. I can't even fathom being faced with the task to carve out however many tons of granite to get 300 yards into a mountain. And then building a giant cross/chimney.

And last but not least, Manzanares el Real is a super sweet castle that you can walk all over/under/in/around. Very neat.
