Barcelona Day 2/Tarragona/Salou

On our last day in Barcelona we toured some ancient Roman ruins that are underneath the Palacio Real, wandered through the mercado one last time, and then were off to Tarragona to see more ancient ruins!

And now here comes the Saga of Salou. We arrived in the early evening, so we went down the beach and swam for a while before it got dark. Then we went in search of food and found the best paella deal ever-green salad, paella, water or wine and then a dessert. The paella did not disappoint and it was honestly the best seafood of my life (the shrimp was divine!).

the aftermath.

After our salad and paella, the waiter brought out some glasses....and started pouring us some shots. We looked on in dead silence...why isn't anybody saying anything?? help someone tell him we don't drink! But wait we already did because we politely declined the wine...ahhh!
So. As any good Mormon girl would do, we didn't want to look rude but didn't want to partake. Which meant that we dumped the {probably expensive} liquor off the side of the balcony.

look! no more shots!
And then of course about twenty minutes later the very nice waiter tried to pour us another round but this time we ALL said "no!" very loudly. Whoops. Better late then never! We did give him a tip though because he had brought us a little thing of tapas for free and because he probably had to clean up our puddle later. Haha.

I loved this trip though! And this week is time to put the study back into study abroad. We head to Salamanca on Friday for just a quick overnight trip and then we're done! So next weekend Rachel and I will be in Portugal! How exciting is that?
